Tragic Event:Woman Bathed With Acid Few Days To Her Wedding

According to Naij.com, the young lady who is a business woman was approached by one Mr Chidi Ubochiadinjo and proposed to Miss Ogochukwu who stays at 19, Garba Musa street, Idi Araba, Mushin in Lagos. At first, she was said to have declined the proposal as she knows the man already has a wife. When Miss Ogochukwu saw that Mr Chidi was unrelenting and was planning to do the proper marriage rites and visit her family, she advised him to inform his wife at home about it.

This was the straw that broke the camel’s back as the wife, Mrs Nkeiru Chidi Ubochiadinjo, started calling her and sending threatening text messages both on WhatsApp and as SMS. Mrs Chidi was said to have threatened to harm Miss Ogochukwu before December 2016 when the wedding was slated to take place. According to the wife, his husband is already renovating the village’s family house in preparation towards the traditional marriage. Miss Ogochukwu was said to have not taken the threats seriously. But she told Mr Chidi about it who dissuaded her from informing the police about the threats.
On October 6, while coming back from work at about 8pm, just at Ilasa bus stop, she was attacked by a man who poured acid on her. The man was said to have jumped on a waiting motorcycle the moment the deed was done. She was later rushed to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital. The next morning, Mrs Chidi was said to have called Ogochukwu’s phone again but was picked up by the victim’s younger brother. When she was told the state at which Ogochukwu is, battling with her life, Mrs Chidi was said to have plainly said ‘this is just the beginning ‘ before disconnecting the call.
