Super Eagles Player Injured, As Ethiopian Fans Attack Nigerians

The attack by Ethiopian fans on the players of the Super Eagles of Nigeria yesterday left Real Betis star, Nosa Igiebor injured as a stone hurled by the fans into the bus conveying the eagles to their hotel had its windscreen shattered and the player’s palm slashed.

The Ethiopian fan had following the loss of their team in the first leg playoff of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in Addis Ababa attacked not only the Super Eagles players, but also other Nigerians in Addis Ababa burning cars and other properties.

Narrating the incident, the team’s Media Officer, Ben Alaiya said irate fans laid ambush for the Super Eagles on their way back to their hotel after the match.
