Nigerian arrested with N50 million worth of cocaine in India


Indian authorities have arrested a Nigerian national, AbdulRaheem Kamalideen Kehinde, with 190 grams of fine quality cocaine worth about N50
million (Rs.2 crore) in the international market.

Media reports from Indian commercial city, Delhi, said the Narcotics Cell of the Crime Branch received a tip-off that Kehinde would be delivering a consignment of cocaine to a contact in front of ITBP School, Sector 16 B, Dwarka, New Delhi.
Following the tip-off, the crime branch laid a trap around the area and an unsuspecting Kehinde walked right into it.
In its report newstrackindia.com said, “According to police sources, immediately, a trap was laid around ITBP School, Sector 16 B, Dwarka, New
Delhi and one person later identified as Abdul Raheem Kamalideen Kehinde s/o Shri Abdul Raheem r/o 26, Ojota Street, Lagos Nigeria, presently residing at Hari Nagar near Dwarka Metro Station, Delhi was apprehended at the instance of
the informer. During his personal search, 190 grams of fine quality cocaine was found in his possession.”

Kehinde disclosed during interrogation that he came into India on a Business Visa in 2010 to start garment business.
He had an earlier arrest record for which he got bail in April 2011 and his passport was deposited in the concerned court.
He said further that it was after coming out on bail that he met one Kayode, a fellow Nigerian in INA Market and both of them got involved in drug trafficking, with Kehinde receiving commission on
every delivery.
