DoyinTv on tuesday had an exclusive twitter interview with Femi Kuti, the son of the late lengendary Fela Anikukapo Kuti, He talked about how he used to have stage frights at the initial stage of his career. Also,he gave an insight of his musical career and personal life. Hear the many wonderful things he said during the interview.

WHERE ARE YOU TWEETING FROM?
My home in Akute.
SO WHEN DID YOU START PLAYING THE INSTRUMENT?
The trumpet I started at 8 years but I dropped it as I had no teacher, then the sax at 16 years, I picked up the trumpet and piano 13 years ago.
WHICH DO YOU PLAY MORE OFTEN?
All but practice the trumpet the most these days.
SO DO YOU GET NERVOUS WHEN PLAYING THE INSTRUMENTS TO CROWD/FANS?
No not anymore, I have gotten over stage fright ages ago but I did have stage fright for a while at the beginning of my career.
SO HOW DID YOU OVERCOME IT?
By focusing on being a good instrumentalist.
SO HOW OFTEN DO YOU PRACTICE?
I try to do a minimum of six hours everyday.
HOW DO YOU BALANCE YOUR MUSIC WITH OTHER OBLIGATIONS e.g CHILDREN?
I just try to fit everything together because I love my children and of cause family is there to help out when am not in town.
THAT MEANS IT IS A FAMILY BUSINESS?
I will support whatever my children want to do as long as it is good and they love it.
WHICH FAMOUS MUSICIANS HAVE LEARNED FROM?
Directly under my father “ Fela Anikulapo Kuti”, indirectly people like John Coltrane, Miles Davies, Charlie Parker, Dizzie Gillespie.
HOW MANY KIDS DO YOU HAVE?
Six biological and four I just take care of.
WHAT DO YOU DO ASIDE MUSIC?
Only music it is a full time job (Profession)
SO HOW DO YOU HANDLE MISTAKES ON THE STAGE DURING PERFORMANCE?
Hardly make mistake on stage that is why we practice a lot. So even if a mistake occurred we will rectify it immediately.
WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE NIGERIAN ARTISTE?
Can’t answer that but I am friendly with most of them, we all kind of get alone very well.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE SPORT?
Kind of like all, may be most and existing game of soccer like American football.
WHAT ARE YOUR CHALLENGES SO FAR IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY?
Right now I only want to finish my next album.
SO HOW SOON SHOULD WE BE EXPECTING IT & ARE THERE GOING TO BE ANY FEATURES/APPEARANCES FROM OTHER ARTISTES?
2015, I don’t plan features but keep an open mind, if it happened good & if it doesn’t I will still complete my work.

HOW HAS STARDOM AFFECTED YOU NEGATIVELY OR POSITIVELY?
Don’t look at it negatively or positively. It part of the business as one goes along, you learn to deal with it.
WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE TO UPCOMING ACTS?
They should pick up a musical instrument.
